Canada Day 4

After a long weekend of all being crammed together in one hotel room and car we woke up early and headed back home.  Poor Macey woke up not feeling well and threw up right before leaving the hotel.  And she continued to get sick the whole car ride home.  We drove around Vancouver, B.C. for a little bit trying to find the kids a blueberry car, like in Psych, but had no luck!  Just before leaving Canada we ironically saw about 8 Bald Eagles in Canada on President's Day.  Before crossing the border we pulled over for some last minute Canada photos.  We then got in line for the border crossing.  After some time we made it to the front of the line where because of the number of kids/birth certificates they sent us to go into the building for further inspection.  They asked the kids several questions about birth order, and such and then documented every birth certificate into the computer system.  Then finally let us go, but not before Miley and Cassidey ran into a restricted area of course!  We made it home at about 4:30, took Lillie to gym, picked Gonzo up and got groceries.  What a crazy weekend!

Jason spotted a car rolled over in the ditch on 182nd Ave. north of our house, so he stopped (and then another guy stopped) they pulled the girl out of the car and she was fine. He came home and told the kids and Landon asked him if everyone was ok and Jason said yes. Then he said “so I guess you aren’t really a hero then….well maybe a 1% hero” Tough standards!?

Took the younger 6 to Walmart to kill time in Auburn at Lillie's meet. Macey had to go to the bathroom. She came out laughing and told me they were selling napkins for 25cents. Then she said: "good thing there was tp because I am broke! "

Sitting here 1/2 watching Psych reruns with Macey and Landon while I work on the computer, when a commercial comes on for the Trojan Twister personal massager boasting a guarantee to make your hair stand up! Before I barely realize what's going on Macey says, "The Twister sounds Super!"

I figured out the cure to constipation! All you have to do is tell your kids to clean and all the sudden they disappear to the bathroom for 20 minutes! Works every time!

After 4 phone calls in a row of kids tattling, fighting and yelling I used my best British accent and told em they have the wrong number. They apologized, hung up and quit calling me!

Canada Day 3: Cassidey's 4th Birthday!

It was Cassidey's 4th birthday and we were celebrating it in Canada!  We woke up with no clear plan of what to sight see.  So we drove around until noon before we figured out what we were doing.  While searching for what to do, we came across the Olympic Village, where the athletes stayed during the Olympics, so Lillie took her picture below an Athlete Way road sign and the little girls with bird sculptures.  We thought about going back to Stanley Park, we headed for the zoo, but got lost, and finally decided we would just go to the Granville Island Public Market.  The kids had a blast at the Kids Market playing, shopping and Canon got a hair cut.  Jason and some of the kids got some seafood at the market to eat.  Cassidey got a bag full of her favorite characters, the Rugrats.  She was super excited we found those at the market.  We stopped at the grocery store by the hotel to pick up a birthday cake, where they only had one cake available and it wasn't the cutest cake, but all day Cassidey kept saying she wasn't 4 until she has birthday cake.  So we had to make sure the poor kid was able to turn 4!  We ended the day with presents, pizza and birthday cake! Just before singing to Cassidey she dropped her cake, luckily it hit her shoe and flipped right side up before hitting the floor, so it was mostly salvageable!
